Graduation season is here! Milestones are perfect opportunities to celebrate our successes and reflect on where we’re going. At United Way we see high school graduation as a yardstick. How are we doing as a community to keep all kids on track to succeed? How can we do better?
I remember my high school graduation clearly. A sense of accomplishment. Anticipation of change, growth and new experiences ahead. Gratitude, because this wasn’t my success alone. Love for the teachers, friends, parents and mentors who believed in me, challenged me, and inspired me.
We invite you to be that difference – whether you have kids or not, whether you loved school or not. It’s important that we show our kids that high school graduation is a big deal.
United Way is encouraging a city-wide celebration to honor the class of 2017, inspire future grads, and reinforce the message that graduation is an important milestone that we value as a community.
Now thru May 20, help us blitz the city with messages of support and pride for our graduates, from Chugiak to Girdwood!
